Why some areas are missing
We publish an area page when our selection holds at least six properties whose neighborhood is confirmed. 213 of the 369 New York City properties sit in an area that clears that line today. The rest carry a location recorded only at borough or address level, and guessing a neighborhood from an address is exactly the kind of detail that looks harmless and then turns out wrong.
The West Village, the Lower East Side, the East Village, the Meatpacking District, Staten Island, Greenwich Village, the Bronx and the Theater District are therefore not published yet. Where a trip is anchored near one of them, the landmark pages are the better route, because those are built from coordinates rather than from an area label.
